A vapor balm is used to stimulate the flow of excess mucus or to loosen congestion.
Recipe
Vapor Balm
- 10-15 drops each- essential oils of Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Wintergreen
- 4 ounces of a carrier oil such as almond oil, apricot oil, or olive oil.
- 2 Tbs beeswax
Warm the oil to about 90 degrees F. Add the beeswax and let it melt into the mixture. Let cool a bit, and add the essential oils. Pour into a jar. Rub onto the chest as a decongestant or on muscles to ease soreness.
